Sophia joined the UWC International Office in 2023 as Philanthropy Intern and has since then become a permanent member of the Philanthropy Team. In her role as Philanthropy Associate she primarily supports her team members with Prospecting and Data Management.
After graduating from UWC Mahindra College in 2014, Sophia returned to her hometown, Berlin to obtain an LL.B. from Europa University Viadrina where she majored in Public International Law. There, she worked as a Research Assistant and did extensive research in the fields of International Humanitarian Law and International Space Law.
Sophia has stayed passionate about making quality education accessible to everyone and has been working with organisations that offer tutoring to children that have recently relocated to Germany.
In her free time, Sophia enjoys exploring Berlin’s culinary and art scene as well as being an active member of a German political party. She speaks German, English and Spanish and is currently attempting to learn Arabic. She now lives in Berlin-Neukölln after having spent two years in Granada, Spain.
