UWC is pleased to announce that on 30 June 2017, UWC was presented with the sixth annual Luxembourg Peace Prize for Outstanding Peace Education. This award seeks to recognize educational organizations fostering a culture of peace globally, and is presented each year as part of the World Peace Forum, an event organised by the Schengen Peace Foundation.

UWC was represented in Luxembourg by UWC International Board Vice-Chair Jill Longson. The Luxembourg Peace Prize was founded in 2012, and honours leaders and innovators in the following fields: Peace Activism, Peace Education, Peace Organization, Public Peace Efforts, Peace Support, Peace Technology, Youth Peacemaking, Peace Process, Environmental Peace and Peace Journalism.
