Its purpose is to further the UWC mission to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future by engaging and sustaining an inclusive and active network of alumni and others dedicated to living the values of the UWC movement and contributing to the common good.

UWC NYC has been an active group since 2013 and its previous events and activities have included: 11 UWC Days, including the 1st ever convocation for new graduates in 2024; a yearly holiday party, fundraising events for UWC Sudan, Venezuela and Ukraine, ongoing monthly Second Saturdays at Six (SSS), community service events with Project EATS and many more.
