Tal Fineberg, a Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA alum (1990-1996), has dedicated decades to the conservation and protection of biodiversity in Swaziland. As chairman of the Lubombo Conservancy, he manages the largest conservation area in the country. He is also taking care of the Mbuluzi Game Reserve in the Lowveld of Swaziland and leading the Swaziland Game Ranches Association (SGRA), a collective of the privately owned Game Ranches which makes up the largest association of conserved land in the country.

Talking about the importance of his work, Tal said: “Swaziland has a relatively small percentage of the country under conservation (about 4%). This means that any work that is done to protect these areas makes a huge impact in conserving the country’s biodiversity”. 

A path that his UWC experience contributed to build, as he said: “Being at UWC gave me a wide variety of experiences that helped me to decide who I am and where I would fit into this world best”.
