30 JUNE - 9 JULY 2025
UMOJA 2025: Coming Together to Build Community is an extraordinary journey that unfolds to provide a transformative learning experience for a diverse group of youth over a 10-day period.
With an emphasis on experiential teaching methods and engagements with both community and nature, the programme seeks to empower participants and equip them with the skills to become effective change-makers in building strong and sustainable communities.
Crafted for inquisitive minds aged 16 to 20, this short course is an invitation to join a thriving global and local network of changemakers—to learn, to explore, and to challenge your worldview.
The UMOJA Short Course delves into the heart of community, uncovering the diverse identities within it and the intertwining threads of power and privilege that shape our world. But we are not merely observers—UMOJA will equip you with the tools and knowledge to take action, empowering you to transform your vision into impactful, sustainable projects.
At UMOJA, we will dive deep into community building through four powerful themes:
- Youth Activism & Entrepreneurship
- Conflict & Problem Solving
- Environment & Climate Change Identity
- Intersectionality & Gender
The programme goes beyond traditional education by fostering curiosity, critical thinking, local and global understanding, respectful and sensitive interaction, compassion, celebrating diversity, problem-solving, and project building.
Join us in for 10 days in Moshi, Tanzania for this immersive and life-changing experience.
