Jui Shrestha is an alumna of Waterford Kamhlaba UWC of Southern Africa (2000-2002). She is a public policy professional based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Before moving back home in 2015, she worked at a think tank in California on their public opinion research projects. She has volunteered with alumni organisations of the schools and colleges that she has attended for fundraising and developing policies that create a safe and welcoming environment for all. She enjoys reading, meeting up with her friends and cousins, catching up with her niece and nephew and watching tennis and cricket with her father. She has an MPA from the University of Connecticut and a BA in Urban Studies and Government from Colby College.
"How Waterford in Eswatini, a UWC in a developing part of the world, supported scholars from Nepal like me from another developing part of the world when the funds could have perhaps been used for students from its own region still amazes me. This commitment to diversity that UWC has and the belief in the value it brings to all is what makes me want to contribute in whatever way I can to make the movement stronger."
