Doing Good (Hybrid)

31 July 2025

7 - 23 JULY 2025

The Doing Good short course is a transformative 2.5-week hybrid programme that challenges high school students to explore the question: “What is good work, and how do we do it?” Through self-reflection, hands-on learning, and engagement with local communities in Binh Dinh, Vietnam, students will develop a deeper understanding of ethical, engaged, and excellent work.

Phase 1: Online (5 Days)Understanding Good Work in Your World In this interactive online week, students will identify what "doing good" means and practice good work in their local contexts. Through individual and team activities, they will reflect, challenge assumptions, and share insights in online group discussions. By the end of the Online Component, they will develop a deeper understanding of good work and a list of thought-provoking questions to explore throughout the In-person Component of the program. Phase 2: In-Person (10 Days) Understanding the World The in-person experience immerses students in The Good Project’s 3E framework: Excellence, Engagement, and Ethics. Each theme is explored through theory and real-world application:

  • Excellence: Personal mastery, strengths exploration, and growth mindset workshops.
  • Engagement: Community mapping, immersive site visits (e.g., Recycling Garden, Fish Village), and cultural exchange activities.
  • Ethics: Value-based decision-making, ethical debates, and leadership reflection.

Participants will participate in outdoor learning with Outward Bound Vietnam, develop a personal Good Work Project, and present their plans for post-course impact. By the end of the course, participants will have gained a nuanced understanding of Good Work, the confidence to create change, and a global network of like-minded changemakers.

  • There will be an online info session about the program on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 14:00 Viet Nam Time (UTC +7). Join the Information Session via this link: https://bit.ly/doing-good-info-session
