Embodying Earth will bring together 36 changemakers aged 16–20 from the broader Asia region for two-and-a-half weeks to ask this question:

“What lies at the root of the climate crisis and how might I be of service?”

Participants will engage with deep ecology, climate science, regenerative leadership, and local sustainability initiatives.

Designed in collaboration with Nui Tuong Community, the Vietnamese Community of Integral Living, and New York University Shanghai, this program integrates nature-based learning with climate science to equip young leaders with tools, mindsets, and inspiration for change.

Guided by experienced facilitators, local sustainability leaders, and an international changemaker community, participants will also develop impact projects that promote a thriving, just, and sustainable future, applying their learning towards creating lasting environmental and social impact in their communities.

There are 3 phases to the program:

      1. Phase 1 (June 30–July 3) Introduction to Climate Science & Systems Thinking (Online)

• Explore the current landscape of the climate crisis
• Investigate root causes & leverage points for change
• Develop critical thinking & systems awareness

       2. Phase 2 (July 4–July 12) Regenerative Leadership Immersion (In-Person)

• Live at an ecological village in Đồng Nai, learning directly from sustainability leaders
• Participate in hands-on experiences like regenerative agriculture & environmental stewardship
• Develop intercultural competence, personal leadership, and collaboration skills

      3. Phase 3 (August -October) Mentorship & Designing Climate Action Projects (Online)

• Apply design thinking to develop personal climate action projects
• Receive 1:1 mentorship from UWC facilitators
• Implement & refine projects in home communities.

Dates: 30 JUNE - 12 JULY 2025 

Location: Online and in-person in Đồng Nai, Việt Nam 

Participants: students must meet the following criteria:

• Eligible applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 20 of the first day of the programme, which is June 30, 2025. Participants who are right out of this age range (ie. 15 or 21) can be considered on a case-by-case basis and should email embodyingearth@uwc.vn
• As part of our evolving approach, we are focusing this year on participants from East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia*. See this list of eligible countries: https://bit.ly/EmbodyingEarthEligibility. 

*This decision allows us to build stronger regional networks, improve accessibility for participants, and ensure programme feasibility while we evaluate opportunities for future expansion.

• Participants are healthy and can participate in outdoor activities.
•  As the programme will be conducted primarily in English, participants should have a strong command of the English language.
• Participants coming from abroad should have a valid passport and visa to enter and stay in Vietnam for the entire duration of the programme.

Financial Assistance: Both full and partial financial aid are available. Financial aid can be applied to the program tuition but not to the costs of personal transportation to/from the program or medical insurance. Applicants can apply for financial aid through the application portal.
