NC Spotlight: UWC Bangladesh

Since its humble beginnings in 1993, UWC Bangladesh has grown into a vital platform connecting young changemakers with UWC schools worldwide. Today, the National Committee has a community of over 400 passionate alumni - a number that has tripled in just the last decade. Since 2016, 70 students have received scholarships to attend UWC schools, made possible by the NC’s impressive fundraising efforts, supported by alumni, parents and dedicated organisational partners.
Each year, applicants from over 130 schools across the country, representing diverse backgrounds and experiences, apply to UWC. This reach is due to the committed efforts of the NC's alumni association, who work tirelessly on outreach, selections and supporting future UWC students. Still, UWC Bangladesh’s greatest goal - and challenge - is to reach even more students from every corner of the country, sustaining growth within their thriving alumni community. Recently, UWC Bangladesh held an event in recognition of the UWC Day 2024 theme, Together we change, exemplifying their strength in bringing together their close knit community.
