Kate Holgate

My first job was with the British Diplomatic Service – I would never have got the job without the international exposure gained through UWC.

Kate Holgate (USA 82-84) is currently a Partner in the London office of Brunswick Group LLP – Financial Public Relations Consultancy.

 
Before joining Brunswick, Kate spent six years in the Corporate Finance Division of Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where she worked on a number of capital market transactions including flotations, mergers and recommended and hostile offers. Before moving to investment banking, Kate was a member of the HM Diplomatic Service and served as Second Secretary, spokesperson and head of the press office at the British Embassy in Ankara. She graduated with a first class Hons degree in Physics from Oxford University.

“UWC was much more international than my British high school with a more varied curriculum.  The International Baccalaureate programme requires you take six subjects so I was able to mix science and arts at pre-university level.  I believe I am a better communicator as a result of this and I am sure my international outlook stems from my time at UWC”.
