UWC Short Courses
In addition to the 12 United World Colleges, UWC Short Courses have enabled more young people to share the United World Colleges experience.

UWC Short Courses are often held in regions of political, economic, ethnic or environmental tension and have themes such as conflict management or environmental awareness. Locations have included Lithuania, Latvia, Montenegro, Cyprus, Jordan and Turkey. Short Courses share the same ideals as UWC Colleges, but take place over an intensive two or three week period. The courses are typically led by tutors from UWC Colleges and 'animateurs' who are UWC graduates.

Students are selected for UWC Short Courses by UWC National Committees and Selection Contacts - for details see the Applicants area of this site. All Short Course fees are covered, but participants are expected to cover the cost of travel to and from the course. Short Course participants are generally selected from countries within the region where the Short Course is located; for example, most students attending a Short Course in Montenegro  come from countries in South East and Central Europe.

All graduates of UWC Short Courses are members of the UWC international movement and maintain an active Short Course Graduate Network  The website contains information on the nature and impact of UWC Short Courses from the perspective of those who have participated in past courses.
